Paris Augt. 28th 1785.
My dear Sir —
You are a very shabby Gentleman for not
writing to me, for which I desired my Friend Your Son to —
abuse his own Father; he has left a Letter with me for You and
a pair of lyone Stockings and a pair of Socks, and three pair of
warm Gloves, these was were to come by my Son in Law Capt. Brooke
but as they have too many things already, I have begged the Favour of
my Friend Major Gall to take the Letter, the Stockings and one
pair of Gloves, and this Letter of mine comes also by his Favour,
and the Socks and the other two pair of Gloves, shall be sent You
very soon; My Head is too indifferent for me write much, therefore
shall only Add my best Compts. to Mrs. Bentham to both the
Mr. Abbots, and any other of my Friends who may come in Your way,
and I shall be glad whenever You will repeat what I am now
going to say to You which is that I am
