Hond Sir,
Your very kind Letter of the 28th Octr. last altho'
it did not reach me so soon as, according to the
Ordinary Course of the Post, I might have expected,
has however been lying several weeks by me without
my hitherto setting down to answer it.
I believe I told you, Sir, in a former Letter that
I was thinking of engaging in some Commercial
undertakings, which, at the same time that they
would occupy me in the way I take most delight
in, could not fail of being productive of
considerable profit.
I was loth to acquaint you with any Particulars
of my Plan till I could speak with some assurance
of it's taking place, and I shall now leave the
Details to my Brother's more ready Pen, which
he will no doubt employ with much pleasure
and better effect at his arrival at Critchoff;
In the meantime I cannot but let you know,
Sir, that I have taken, on my own account,
several of the Fabricks, and Manufactures which
