with my adding one Crime more to what he had
already to reproach me himself for. I flatter myself,
I answered him, that you do not mean to
affront me a second time in your Life, and
I shoualld regard it as the highest Offence you
would can offer me, if you Do not fire this very
instant, He then fired at me but the blow
did not reach me, He threw his Pistol upon
the Ground, begging me with the greatest
earnestness to be satisfied with what had passed
no said I to him, I shall not be so, till you
shall have fired and hit me to some purpose;
upon this, he took the Second Pistol which snapp'd
as the first had done. He then threw it upon the
ground, saying, that Fortune you see that Fate interposes, and
will not permit me to let have you suffer any more on
my Account by me. "Prince, you offend me more than
you can imagine percieve fire & fire to purpose, It
absolutely intend is my determined resolution that you shall. Then His Second
then presented him a Pistol to me with which the Prince he
fired at me & missed me. My dear Count, said
he to me are you now satisfied. yes, said I
to him, the manner in which you have acted
to day is so as noble, as it is honourable; I am
satisfied and forget every thing that has passed
upon which we were sincerely reconciled to Each other
