greatest regret for having offended me, and
in the whole affair conducted himself with
all the Calmness and generosity possible.

As to what regards my own Conduct in
this Renconter; I have related it to you
with the greatest simplicity. I submit it
to your Judgement; I am desirous of nothing
so much as to merit your approbation.
I have extremely at heart to be capable of

all worthy Men much more than I am able
to express.

I can learn nothing here of our Friend
Mr. de Zeuthen, should he happen to be
at Critchoff, give him the warmest Salutations
from me, who am entirely at your Command,
and your sincere Friend, and Servant,
T. Mellin

To Lieutt. Coll Bentham
at Critchoff.
