You now see now, Sir, a succinct abridgment of
the whole that passed upon this occasion, the Prince
from the first moment shewed much regret
for having given me any offence, and in the
whole affair he conducted himself with all
the coolness, and in as nobly as was possible.
It is a Justice that I think myself obliged
to do him.
As to what regards my own conduct in
this rencounter, I have laid it open to you
with the greatest simplicity. I submit it to
your Judgment. I desire nothing so much
as to merit your approbation; I have it
extremely at heart to be able to merit the
favourable opinion of my friends, & all honest
men.
I can learn nothing here of our friend Mr
Zenthen; perhaps he may be at Kritchow,
salute him intimitely on the part of your
devoted & most very sincere Friend and Servant
