Therefore have been inclined to continue a Sceptic still,
with regard to P.P. had I not found them realized
altho' I had received the following Letter from him to my
Son, a Copy of which was sent me sometime ago,
and which, as it is a short one, I take the liberty of
troubling you with a Transcript of

Je ne vous envoye aucun ordre relativement
aux demandes de votre Lettre de trois Mars
de cette Annee, la raison est que comptant
bien-tot partir, J'aime mieux differer la
decision de ces arrangemens jusqu'a mon
arrive a Critcheff. Je vous prie done
de m'attendre, et d'etre persuade de
l'entier desouement avec lequel J'ai

For the purpose of making the best advantage of the Produce
of his Fabrics he my Son has connected himself with one
of the first Mercantile Houses at Riga, and his head & hands
may now be said to be as full as any ones can well be:
being now at the Head of a Colony, as it were, of his own
forming tho' at the distance he is from his native Country
it is in all probability a better situation upon the whole
than he would have any chance of being in here at home
