The greatness <add> extravagance insatiableness</add> of your demand puts it out of
my power to be generous to you, while as the stile of it
is such as can not but abate the my inclination.
my disposition so to be

A man who can write such a letter is not to
be seen — I have you My Adjutant has orders to pay two hundred Roubles which
will be enough to carry you to Riga to p keep
you while there till the navigation is open & to pay for your passage. this independent of what you may have left from your last expedition to Cherson & the Crimea which according to my calculation can make can't be less than 150 more at which place if you think fit to go to England, Mr Trompovski will pay for your passage By
the time you arrive in England I shall have may <add> perhaps have it
in my power to Judge whether your letter was the effect of all health of
transient ill humour or whether it was the result
of such a fixt disposition as will prevent me taking
any further notice of you. In the mean time
I wrote to Dr Brown to know learn from him hear his
a more distinct an exact account of the expectations he held
out to you: for whatever engagements he made may
have made in my name will be saved
and his
answers will also have its influence on my future
conduct towards you.
