Dear Sir
This my 3d Letter I have wrote to you since my
arrival here, but some fatality attends the Post, that I
have hardly had a Line from any of my Friends since
I left England, a twelvemonth ago I wrote to
Mr Lee requesting him to send some Trees, Garden
and Flower seeds agreable to a List inclosed to him,
I also sent Copies of that Letter begging that
those Seeds might be directed to the Care of Mr
Sambousky who is Preceptor to the Children of
the Grand Duke in Petersbourg and praying him
to draw upon me at Mr Sambouskys for the
value. I have been waiting in such anxiety
ever since but not a word of the Seeds.
I lately reced a Message from Mr Lee by second
hand that is thro' Mr Bentham's late of
Lincoln's Inn but now at Kritchoff near
Monhiloff in White Russia desiring I would
send him some seeds of the Rhododendron.
If you see Mr Lee please to let him know
there is not one a native of the Crimea
our Governor got a few plants last year
from Constantinople. The Rhododendron is about
the only Siberian Plant described by Pallas which
