of wch. it will give me great pleasure to avail myself
of the means it may affords me us of writing & receiving
Letters to & from each other by favour of the Channel
through which I flatter myself this will find its
way to you.
In a Letter I wrote to reced lately from my Eldest Son he
mentions his Intention of returning to England
sometime by Land as soon as the winter Roads are
formed, & when ever he dos I shall strongly
recommend it to him to take Berlin in his way
home, wch I hope he will do, & the more so as I
acquainted him with the obliging Letter I had reced
from you & of your being so agreably setled there
wch I am persuaded will operate more effectively forceably
upon him as an Inducement than any other
circumstance I cod mention to him.
He gives me to understand that Prince P—
has actually sold his Estate at Critchoff & purchased
another nearer to Krementchuck, the consequence
of wch. will be that my Son Saml. must abandon
whatever concerns he had there, tho' I hope
not to his prejudice as that wod be a manifest
Injustice — as considering that the Improvements he has made upon
that Estate must have greatly enhanced the Value
of it in the Price the Prince will receive for the purchase
of it — but I flatter myself that there is the less
reason to suspect my Son will be a Sufferer from the
