If he finds you still at Kretchoff, he is to let you have as
much of it as you please. So that in case you have had
correspondence with Shairpe by which you learn that now
there is at present any faverable opportunity of remitting
money to England you may then take the whole.
If not you will take only what you want for yourself
and let him send the remainder to me here. This he
can do without risk or expence for if he writes to the
Admiralty that he has received a sum of money there
I can receive that sum here on his account. It is also
probable that I have much better opportunities of sending
money from home to Petersbourg than you can have.
Besides unless there was a great necessity I should not like
to remit any thing to England till I get my money
from the Prince or know that he never means to give it me.
Dashkoff
The reason of my not receiving hides or money from
Hagelmeister was that Dashkoff had got it into his hands, however
when I passed Kieff in Vermicular he gave me that money
but is still owing for cloth & other things near 1500 Rs.,
I know not where he is at present but upon the chance of
his being at Mohilew I have given the Bearer a letter
for him pressing payment.
Carl Ivanevitch the Glass maker must not have a farthing I have some
where or other his note of hand for I think 350 rubles.
