5 June Afternoon
1788
Dear Bentham
I enclose part of the Monthly
Review which will probably give you some
pleasure notwithstanding the impertinent
Remarks on the Style at the end —
I think upon the whole it is better
done than most articles in Reviews
And we have been tempted to think
it written by some friend but we
Cannot guess who — [Nor I neither J.B.]
We hope to see you soon
Yours sincerely
G. Wilson
I have a letter from my sister with
apology
dutiful Bannerman goes
tomorrow —
P.S On coming to town I learn that the Defense of Usury has been reprinted in
Dublin. When you have done with the enclosed, return it if you please (not to Mr Wilson)
to whom I have given another) but to me. I may perhaps send it to Sam. June 10th
