Enamel upon Gold, The Ribbon has five Stripes,
three black, and two Orange Colour. A certain
Number receive Pensions.

It is the 4th Class that your Son and Coll
Fanshaw recd — upon the Gold hilted Sword
which your Son so deservedly obtained is this
Inscription, "A Reward for the brave."

I have the satisfaction to inform you, your
Son the Coll. is in good health: Mr Shairp
received a Letter from him a few days since
He writes he shall be here early in the winter

I shall be happy, Sir, on any occasion to
shew you the sincere attachment I have for
your Sons. The inclosed Note you will please
to send to Hendon. And I request you will
send the Packets of Letters by a Servant or
Porter on whom you can rely, as they may
probably be of some consequence to me.
