In acknowledging the favour of yours of 15th inst
I have to assure you that I think myself very happy am
very happy in think to find that any thing I have
written proves acceptable to the a Family I have ever
so highly esteemed and Mr John York & you are at
perfectly liberty to make publick the my Letter to your Son upon the Subject
of relative to the late Earl of Hardwick add to
add my nam name it. I have only to wish
that you will favour me with the alterations
in Pencil you wanted to have been made by Mr York
in Pencil that I may add them to the Copy of the Letter
which I wrote to your Son which I have by you me
and if it be approved of, I wod propose to add with respect to Lord Dover after the words in my
Letter - "to the entire satisfaction of of his Sovereign
and to the benefit of his Country" the following words,
or to the the State, following viz, "of which his present Majesty was so thoroughly sensible that
the Honour conferred upon Sir Joseph proceeded from the
Kings own mere motion without the least unsolicitedation by from any one,
whatever, a circumstance that greatly enhanced the
