it still more grateful to his Lordship, to receive
so distinguished a mark of approbation by from a
Prince who has ever been known to take pleasure
in rewarding those who his Majesty have been
known to be deserving of Royal Favour."
If you shall think it will add any thing
to the authenticity of my Letter to your Son, or
to the contents of it: you may take occasion
if you please to insert the following by way
of note to it, herein inclosed respecting myself.
NB. Jeremiah Bentham Esq., the writer of this
Letter (or from whom I, or the Editor received
this Letter) is still living and altho' he is now
in the 78th year of his age may truly be said
to have so much of the mens sana in Corpore Sano He being
as to be by his acquaintances and is remarkable
able for having all his faculties of
mind & body as little impaired by time, as can
well be supposed of any one. and which is in some measure imputable to
The House he
lives in & where he has lived above three & twenty
years
the air, & Exercise he has the advantage of
taking in St James's Park where his House is and which together with several
others in Petty France on its that one side of the
garden to his dwelling House belonging to it are his own by Purchase
and were formerly the property of Milton the
