On the 10th instant at 8 in the morning
the Company of the Catherinburgh Batallion was
drawn up: as also of the Garrison 80 men, and
a few Cossacks. The Musqueteers were formed
in two lines, one distant from one another 25
paces leaving between them a spot destined
for the place of execution. On the side of the
Russians there were of soldiers and inhabitants
together, about 400: on the side of the Chinese
there were arranged Mongols about 200.
At the beginning of the 10th hour, on
the arrival of the Commissioners on both sides
the execution began on the Bratski Cossack
who had been taken on the Chinese frontiers
armed and had been guilty of murder there
