are very well perfectly satisfied with the punishment inflicted
on the first, and have now no further nothing further
claims to demand on you:" and but as our people persisted
that they should be witnesses to the punishment
of these others, as it was appointed that it should
be so and entered a minute to that effect
entered in the Journal, so at length the Chinese
Commissioner gave them to understand that they
would represent the matter to their Ambase, and
on the following day acquaint them with it.

On the 11th instant were given back to us
the four men that were in their hands: and
required that the two delinquents that we had
should be pardoned c this day accordingly they
w I was dismissed with the men under my
command to the Batallion. The commerce
in a short time will be opened.
