hearing of so desperate an action in this Neighbourhood.
I have been long enough here to receive answers
to the Letters I wrote you from hence at my arrival
but uncertain of my stay here. I was afraid of my
missing my Letters by making them come here,
so that they remain at Petersburg.
The pleasing prospect that I had fereeced of coming
in upon you the 11th of January, when I flattered
myself you would be assembled together I must
now abandon; but I trust our meeting may
be as happy this day as another. be assured
Sir, of the impatience I feel, when I indulge
myself with such Ideas, and that I am with
the most affectionate respect
