consequence. Either I am mistaken, or when a man in power
is determined to crush a proposal which he can find nothing to
say against, he does by it exactly as Mr Dundas has done by
mine. If their appearances speak true, and Mr Dundas chooses
rather to see corruption corrupted under Mr Campbell than
reclaimed and for ever provided for by me at a less price, the
public is without remedy: by I would not take it for granted,
without using this one effort to harm whether that is really the case.
If it be, it remains for me to beg pardon of Administration
and of myself, for having suffered myself this long to harbour the
idea as that the acknowledged utility could create a
title to attention.
