Observations with the greatest deference submitted
Clause 2d. — Dele " superior to what is usual among the lower
classes or even" and insert, "suitable to
the situation of Persons of the lower Classes
and superior to what is usual in". —
6th L. 3d. — Dele "other improved", and insert "many" —
7th — Explain whether the proportion of Earnings, shall
from time to time, (weekly or otherwise), be paid
to each Prisoner, or placed in the Ledger to his
or her Account, a small proportion might
be allowed weekly, for the purchase of Tobacco,
Milk, Fruit, or such little indulgences as
may not be contrary to the regulations of
the Prison, and the remainder be applied,
on the discharge, for the use of the Prisoners,
in fitting up, & furnishing the Cottage or Lodgings,
providing Tools for carrying such Trade as he or
she may intend to carry on, or otherwise, as may
be thought expedient; or might be paid to
