To Long Hendon

Fair copy sent from Hendon by
Upsal ½ after 12
Sir
Hendon Middlesex Sept. 26 1794
Accept my best thanks acknowledgments for the favour
of your long and very obliging letter of yesterday
afternoon transmitted me hither last night
As to misstatements misperceptions, believe me, Sir I wanted
only to know your own statement of your own
sentiments and expressions, to subscribe to it:
they could not be, the appeal being all
along tacitly to yourself, conceiving myself
to be writing under your eye. There are accidents
almost inseparable from viva voce intercourse,
which makes me so anxious for written
subjects of reference where the nature of the case
admitts of it
As a declared friend to the measure I take
the liberty of inclosing the copy of a letter an answer I have
just been writing to Mr Dundas
In the Mean time of I will no longer
resist the wish proposal which with a view of
facilitating forwarding the business your are pleased to report
with respect to the nomination of Surveyors: always
understood that such Surveyors are not to be
precluded without my being appraised of it from fixing upon the exis spot I
wish for, that any claims I may conceive I myself to
have
