Want of clearness
source in the
word location themselves
& in their collocation
Want of clearness, as well in the case of obscurity
as in the case of ambiguity, but more particularly
in the case of ambiguity, may have its source and seat
in either of two places objects: viz. 1. In the word or phrase itself;
or 2 In the collocation: i.e. in the place which
the word or phrase in question is made to occupy,
with relation to such other words or phrases as are
contiguous, or nearly contiguous to it.
N.B. Here insert from other pages, written long
before this time, the several remedies to ambiguity
and obscurity, produced by miscollocation
