Nomography

Example of a Nomographical Rule confined
its application confined to the single of that one proposed Act
clause of a Bill dated 24 Julyy 1830 and
intituled "A Bill (as amended by the Committee]
For altering and amending the Law regarding
Commitments by Courts of Equity for Contempts,
and the taking Bills pro Confesso."

"And be it further Enacted, That wherever this Act,
in describing or referring to any person, or any
conveyance, transfer, matter or thing, uses
the word importing the singular member or
the masculine gender only, the same shall be
understood to include and shall be applied to
several persons as well as one person, and females
as well as males, and bodies corporate as
well as individuals, and several conveyances,
transfers, matters or things respectively, as
well as one conveyance, transfer, matter
or thing respectively, unless there be something
in the subject or context repugnant
to such construction."

At the same moment with the above Bill causes
in those other Bills, as it should seem originating int he same
source but unprovided with the above-mentioned Nomographic
clause. These either are as follows.

1. 74 "For amending the Laws respecting conveyances and Transfers of
Estates & Funds vested in Trustees and Mortgagees, & for enabling Courts
of Equity to give effect to their Decrees and Orders in certain cases."

2. 75. "For consolidating & amending the Laws relating to Property belonging
to Infants, Femes Covert, Idiots, Luncatics, and Persons of Unsound
Mind."

3. 76. "For consolidating & amending the Laws for facilitating the Payment
of Debts out of Real Estate."
