General rules of interpretation

Whatsoever is predicated
of the Principal applies
also to the Depute except
where from the context
the contrary intention
is manifest.

Whatsoever is predicated of the principal
understand as to be meant to be predicated of the
Despute; except in so far as it may happen
that from the context the contrary intention
is manifest.

assistants

Whatsoever is predicated of a party on either
side of the suit; viz the plaintiffs or the Defendants,
understand as intended as to be meant to
be predicated to all his substitutes or assistants,
professional non professional, except
in as far as is may happen that from the
context, the contrary intention is manifest.

So of superordinates
& subordinates
3. Superordinates and Subordinates
Whatsoever is predicated of a Superordinate
in any Department, understand as meant to be predicated
of his several Subordinates, except in so
far as it may happen that from the context,
the contrary intention is manifest,
or from the obvious designs of the arrangements
as to that same department
