Letter to Herald on Rape Licence &c
In this aphorism of I say, all
their grave and pious person by whom in that choice seat of
piety has exercised the function power of legislator have been
exercised how with filial obedience exercised with
the original legislator the second founder of that
holy place, When I say and thereby with my abovemention Watch
friends the abovementioned Gentlemen of Wales. They have
But in so doing they have acted with that consideration
and decorum which at such hands could not
but have been expected. They have accordingly
established fornication by an express law. But
in so doing they have operated proceeded not simpliciter
as in this place the Welsh Gentleman might have who was no
better than a layman might have done, but

This is among the Statutes which with religions care
every young man upon his entries admission into that seat of
exemplary piety is sworn to the observance of: and lest
mistakes misconceptions should arise up in explanation given authoritation prefixt to
this Code it is expressly declared that when and as often as a practice is prohibited what they are sworn
to is – not to abstain from the practice, but to pay the penalty.
