§. Synonymization or eqivalence – need of it.
Identity of words being a certificate of identity of ideas;
Diversity of words, of diversity of ideas
Hence, when for expressing giving expression o a given idea
one word alone is constantly employed, while there were
others which with equally propriety might have been employed,
hence arises a sort of implied and tacit certificate
of diversity as to the words not employed.
Against error from the source, the remedy and
like remedy is – a system of synonymization: subjoined to
the word preferably employed, at the bottom of the page, a
list of words or phrases appellations univocal as multivocal
which on all or most occasions are capable of being
without impropriety employed as substitutes to it.
