Penal Code – Raw MaterialsIntroduction
Beginning
3
In the present instance no solicitation on the part
of any one else has had place For for the reason above
mentioned, the act it is with myself that the idea
originated: what solicitation there is in the case, it
is from me not to me that it has come: from
me to my near relation – the person individual to whom I at whose
at whose hand as it seemed to me I could with most propriety
solicit the any such laborious service.
The work in its present state not being fit
for the authoritative use – not being even in the conception
of the author, fit in any part of it fit for receiving
the touch of the sceptre, the a consequence is
that had it been published – without an apology
such as this by which it is introduced, whatsoever
use may be capable of being made of it, might
in great part of it have been lost. As it is,
the imperfection that will be throughout the whole
texture of it will be discernible in it, are proposed
as a subject matter of correction: to an if correction
will be applied by the author himself, in
proportion as life and faculties happen to continue.
Whereas But for this explanation, by every such imperfection
would, by those where whose sinister interest, interest
begotten prejudice or authority-begotten prejudice, have
rendered inimical to the work in a proportion correspondent
to it the useful its capacity of being productive of benefit
have been taken advantage
of, and
argued as a sufficient
reason for applying
rej absolute rejection
to the whole substance
of it.
