In registing the registering from the the plan against
In repelling thus the imputation of novelty, I mean only
certain must of course be understood to confine
the vindication to that feature particular feature of in
which the imputation has thus been fixed.
For if no point of view could be found on
which it the plan would bear the appellative of new,
what use would there be in proposing it? which to what use or purpose would it be
to propose it? what would there be in it to propose?

An entire chapter of the Plan + + Ch. 3. is occupied employed + in
showing what features the proposed security engagement
has in common with or other the several species sorts of pecuniary engagements
already in use exemplified the several Securities already known and what other features are peculiar
to it. Eight have been are reckoned up
of those common, and twelve of those peculiar
features. in which this species of engagement Among those which being thus common
thus shares with others, and which are
are not new is that of the principals

or the instances there given⊞ ⊞ (besides Stock Annuities which are not in paper) are "Irish Deventures India Bonds: also the (lately disused) "Navy, Victualling, & Transport Bills" and Ordinance Debentures", all of them "masses of paper" are those

before him his eyes if he would have vouchsafed
to look at it – with such an indication a reputation
before him, it is – that he speaks of this
as a novel feature.
