Attornies presumptions

From diverse sections more than one it should seem that in
Mr Broughams view of the matter presumption is in some
one or other of the four modes spoken of by Aristotelians
He prop of one Attorney: in such sort that in
every press is poor, and every poll pretty i e every
Attorney is presumptuous. Accordingly presumption
in a presumptuous fit he catches his Attorney in §.22
and in the like fit in §.36. In §.22 he beholds then an
Attorney presuming "to charge his client with any sum
"critical to be paid by himself under the authority of this
"Act." and again presuming "he p, desiring his suspension."
In §.36 what he catches the Attorney in presuming to
do is "taking more by way of fees for work done by him than
"those according to the Table" contained in the Schedule

There we see our honest Legislator in the character of
a disciplinarian Yes and thus an unprecedentedly severe
one: awful must have been the frown sitting that sat on the
brow of this Lycurgus with while occupied in the penning
