26. That while for drawing in suitors
to these by now unwanted Judications, he endeavours to make
them believe that the expense to them will be as small as
it can be made consistently with justice, he has in every
instance employed the above devices in giving to it the utmost
magnitude which to him seemed possible, and that his
motives for so doing have been were to the swelling to the utmost the
aggregate of the maleficent profit necessary to the class
of men with whom he is connected by the of self-
regarding interest and sympathy 2. the procuring at their
hands support for this his measure and good report
for his person by ungrounded praise and pretended adoration
and swelling to its utmost in securing support to
it at the hands of the leading Servant of the Crown by the maleficent
magnitude thus given to the value of his patronage
