Nothing to pay
"judicial" pay

5. Conciliation

From Denmark the
innovation and the
name

All this while, what is this question, but (a stale)
an imitation of another quacking. From Denmark came
the innovation, and the vocabulary locution by which expression was
given to it. In every part of the field of law All the world over, the trick is the same [+]
[+] Gudgeons are caught
by hooks baited with
worms. Lay-gents are
caught by words twisted
with hooks by lawyers

(man was doomed
to be gulled by words). An imposter without a gun on his
back is sent to the Tread Mill: an imposter with a gun
upon his back is set down upon a bank and pictures
thousands a year upon thousands

Origin of the Danish
Reconciliation Court

at Copenhagen a man of genius, of patriotism — of philanthropy by name —
and his proposal being adopted, back every year from the lawyers tribe

the name

Reconcilement Court — how delightful the sound! what
can be more conciliatory than reconcilement. Behold how
good and joyful a thing it is, brethren, to come together
and be reconciled. Equity was, to be sure a fine thing
a still better finer thing than law: but still afore Equity has
done its best and , still it may happen that
all this money having fled their pockets, parties on one side
or on both sides may some how or other: remain more or
less unsatisfied or even dissatisfied. But, suppose
then all reconciled? why here we have nothing to
say but Jubilate! all is peace and harmony! every one
living is satisfied
