1830 Sept. 11
Review
☞ 11 Sept 1830 This may stand and suffice,
if further particulars can not be got.
IV. Aº 18. On to the carpet came the liberticide
system, known by the name of the Six-Acts.† † ☞ Here give, in a few short sentences, the par some of the most striking of the particulars. Up stands
Joseph Hume, and moves the repeal of it. Present, the
Whigs in form. How act they? On its they fall upon the
peoples every faithful servant, pouring upon him a pityless
storm of indignation mixed with sharpened by ridicule. The
Motion was expected. Where was Henry Brougham? Any
where but there. Out of the way shout he. Not less clear
be the Whigs than to the Tories was and is that tyranny.
Not less clear How much less clear to him is it than to them his
employers?
It What by his Tyranny closing Ordinances
were to Charles the 10th, that are the Sex-Acts to Houses
Honble and Right Honble: If they thus preserve them,
may his lot be theirs!
