Constitutional Code
Art. 9. V. Security against oppression by superordinates.
For the shape in which this security is provided for all functionaries
in general in the Administration department, see Ch. IX. §.
thus intituled ... In the case of the Private the demand need of this security
so far from being less is more urgent than is the case of the Erudite.
The less protection at the hands of individuals the greater is his need of it at the
hands of the law.
Art. 10. VI. Compensation for professional suffering. See
Ch. IX. § Remuneration. The proposition What disproportion excess there may be between.
The Any excess proper to be established in favour of the Erudite will
follow the proportion which as per Art. will have place
in regard to pay. For that which is no more than adequate
for in the case of him whose life habits have been passed formed in a given certain inferior rank level
on the scale of opulence will not be adequate in the case of
one whose habits have been formed in a decidedly determinately superior
rank on the scale of opulence.
Art. 11. VII. Extra remuneration for extra meritorious
Service. In this case the regard for the difference in point of sensibility
as resulting from difference in point of rank will suggest
a difference in correspondency with that mentioned in next above Art.
But as is the nature of the case such extra merit may be
can not but be comparatively rare, it may be the gain advantage in point
of economy frugality resulting from the relative reduction will hardy compensate
for the invidiousness discontent naturally
rise producible by the apparent appearance of partiality, and the damp sedative
which would thus be applied to the exertions of functionaries of
that class which is by so much the more numerous class.
