If application of force
to the will in favour of
an opinion be self deceptive,
and thus immoral
and irrational, what
say we to those passages
of the gospels where faith
is held up as necessary to
salvation? p.1

here to be considered as
defended, therfore neither
are inferences to its prejudice
admissible without
antidotes — p.2

not reconcileable
with the truth of the
religion such evidence
of its not being the work
of a truth loving being
as historical evidence
could not withstand.

the times, and the miracles
wrought (if true)
no self deception necessary
to faith. Attention only

faith and salvation
is it not exhortation to
