conquest a conquest from the French. I don't like it
in the first place because tho the forty days tyranny was
a transaction very properly brought to the wildest of
those to whom you are abt. to show that the Constitn has
been since isolated in more important points without any
attention being pd. to it yet their 40 days tyranny is
not to be compared in any point of view with the
American War & in the next place I don't like it but:
the word conquest is applied in its litteral sense to
America but is a metaphor when used either of the
Wars of 1767 or of Bo at Botany bay. The
truth is that notwithstg what has been done at Botany
bay the Brit Constitn is not conquered but still remains
