H.Br. "Upshot" for Law Reform

Extension of Right by
15. The Statutes of Limitation would be
real acts of quiet, instead of sources of Chicanery and
quibble.

Limitation given in of the subject under
Church Privilege
16. The Church would be placed on the
same footing in Courts, with private parties.

II Procedure
17. The niceties of Trials in all actions
would be done away, and every thing material
be brought forward fully and freely by the parties.

Satisfaction for the payment of Debt
18. All men's property, real and personal,
would be answerable for their debts — their persons only
for their crimes or quasi crimes.

19. All Insolvent estates would be equally
distributed and preferences of Creditors prevented.

20. Judgement by one Creditor would
not ruin a man with his other Creditors; but time
being given by competent authority, forced sale would
be prevented, and appeals for delay abolished.

Costs
21. For a moderate sum, any man would
have redress, and always, if right, would have his
remedy would without any deduction for the cost of
it.

Pecuniary disappointment prevented
22. Thoughtless credits would be greatly
abridged, perhaps prevented — oeconomy encouraged —
and bad debts greatly diminished.
