Characters of the class.

(1)

The following is a of criteria which we have seen
proposed as a list by which sort of species by the touch
of which an anti-reformist disguised in the garb of a reformist may [+]
[+] be made to drop his
disguise, and shew himself
for what he really is.
We his servants of it
is such as we cannot
help shuddering at
and sincerely
will not suffer as to
adopt it without reason.
Thinking however that
on the occasion and in the course of a
description some case
may here and
there be used of it
we venture to submit
it to be considerate of
the reader and here
it is —

Of a man's being either an anti-reformist
or reformist in the disguise of an anti-reformist
are these.

Symptoms of an anti-reformist disguise are these

especially if by express declaration, it appears that
his desire is — to continue the sacrifice made by
the existing system of the interest of the subject
many to the interest of the ruling and influential
few and of the lawyer class in particular.

2. If by it appears that his wish and endeavour
is to give increase or continuance to the inaccessibility
and uncognoscibility of the rule of
portion to their want of acquaintance with it, in a
word to all those by whom in any way opposition
is made to Codification

3. If a man proposes or leaves uncondemned unreprobated
any arrangement by of which needless delay is the manifestly
undeniably the consequence.

4. If a man proposes or leaves uncondemned
any arrangement of which sale of justice is
undeniablythe consequence.

any arrangement of which misdecision undeniably is the
consequence
