On Secy. Peel's Police-Salary raising Speech.
The Times edition is still more compleatly adequate. "The present
Magistrates" (it says) "were" (meaning doubtless are) of the
highest personal respectability, and performed their duties
to the great satisfaction of the country". Of the thirty "only four"
(it adds) were not Barristers. Well thus there are twenty
six Barristers; and they thus perform their duty: there are four
Non-Barristers and they thus perform their duty: and all
this without the indispensable £200 a year: what would
the Country, what would Honorable Gentlemen love more.
This applies to aptitude in all shapes. But the particular part now in question is attendance –
adequacy of attendance.

learns finds that they are no less as compleatly endowed with this
of appropriate aptitude than with all others.

satisfied and will continue to satisfy Honorable House,

and Traveller as inserted in the Examiner of the 27th of
March 1825. It is as follows –
