Mr. Humphreys presents his respects to Mr Bentham,
& begs to acknowledge the favour of the separate point of Mr Bentham's
review of Mr H's Observations on the laws of real property.

Mr H. was yesterday occupied in reading the article, pen in hand,
as he deemed it too previous a study to let a single reflection
resulting from it escape him. He will be bold enough however,
even in this his first communication, to point out one signal error
which pervades the whole article, namely that, in speaking of the author
& the reviewer, master is miswritten for scholar – & so the reverse.

Mr Humphreys proposes to avail himself of the services of
