1820. Sept. 15
To Mora
Virtuous Reigo give me your support: unite your
efforts with mine you and I have one common interest.
It is my interest that Spain be virtuous and happy now
virtuous by my means: it is your interest that she be
virtuous and happy by any means. We have both the
same interest: we have both the same desire. That which you
can not do for her, I can: that which I can not
do for her, you can: and add your influence to my
labours, the thing will be done the object will be accomplished. At last by our means The Be it ever so much
you will do or ever so little, that which through me you will thus do or endeavour to do for your country you will do without risk,
without risk to her your country or to you. Confidence I want none,
order the for labour, and assurance of attention to the
fruits of it this is all I want: this is all I will
receive. If without this without this in this very way I would serve
you if I could: but without this I can not, the necessary
themselves necessary for the attempt encouragement, the indispensable stimulus is wanting to me.
