with the doubt and collateral ends of justice, namely avoidance
of unnecess needless and preponderant delay, vexation and expence,
it it is in a prodigious degree adverse to those ends:
production of the ends of which they provide by the avoidance of
which they are fulfilled. To the vast majority of the people, it
is, by the whole extent of it productive of a compleat denial of
justice. Why then is it so lauded? Because trial by Jury
is trial with lawyers: without lawyers it can not be had.
