1820 Nov. 28
J.B. to Mora

You will think on your part how to convey El Constitutionals
for Traveller and Examiner. The Examiner is
under prosecution, in pursuance of the threat delivered by
Lord Castlereagh not long ago in the House of Commons. He
bids their defiance: you will see the particulars in the Examiner
of yesterday the 27 Novr. There are three Hunts concerned in
the Examiner. Leigh Hunt his pal and man of wit. John
Hunt a sound politician and good writer but
not a pal nor so much of a wit; and my inmate Harvey,
Son of John. John is the only one whose name is
given in as Editor, in pursuance of our liberticide laws.
It happens that the article for which the prosecution is, was
written by John: the sufferer therefore if any will be the
offender.

I write as things come across me. By the next conveyance
I think of sending you matters of my Brother's
unedited official tracts: his answer to objections made by
the a former Comptroller of the Navy – in the name of the Navy Board
of which the Comptroller is the head, to some of my Brother's
plans. I send it that you have the more adequate
conception of his form and style of argumentation. It
I know not whether I sho ever read it: I question whether
there would be any use in giving it in to the Minister of
Marine. You will keep in view these objects – 1. Promoting
the invitation to codify 2. Giving to Spain the benefit of my
Brothers service. 3. Putting you into a situation in which
those who have so lately been your persecutors shall find themselves
your debtors. One reason there is why if the thing
is done at all there should be no time lost. The of Very early on
Sovereign a partner of Mr Bowring's goes to Spain. Villeria
