It has been This correspondence has produced such a sensation
that Dr. Slop, as they call him, the Editor of the New
Times virulent ultra-loyal paper called the "New Times",
and the alledged principal instigator of the association for
suppression of the liberty of the press has taken it in hand, and
used his endeavours to turn it into ridicule, and this paragraph,
which is said to be miserably poor stuff without either
reasoning or any thing like wit (for I have not seen it), has been copied into the
King's own and Ministers own Paper called the "Courier".

Yesterday was received by you may imagine who
a letter dated Paris the fifth Inst. from Count Torreno, announcing
the arrival of a Copy of the "projet du Code
penal", and requesting his certain remarks on it.⊞ ⊞ Your friend, through whom I hope you received, I hope, a small remittance from Mr. Coulson about a month ago, (£10..10-s) was with him several times at Paris. That friend was to leave Paris last Wednesday the 7th in his way to Barcelona through Marseilles and Montpellier. The book is not
yet arrived. You know, I suppose, of a letter written long ago
by Agustin Arguelles to requesting information on the subject
of juries from the same quarter. A printed Book on the subject,
not then published, though printed as long ago as 1811,
but published within these few weeks, was sent through the Spanish
Mission, but nothing in M.S.
