J.B. to Fernandez Thomas
3 3
The following are the articles designed to be sent to you
time enough to go by tomorrow's mail: all possible
time will have been given for your taking whatever
cognizance of them you may be disposed to take.
1. Table — shewing by their titles the subjects of the
several Letters of which the work in its entire state
would be composed. This copy had been already got
up, by a particular mode of writing, in which as
far as 7 or 8 copies may be written at once:
there is no time for transcribing it in the ordinary
mode.
2. Letter 1. Plan of the work
B. 3. Letter 13. Estimates proposed.
B. 4. Letter 14. Relinquishment profitable.
5. Letter 15. Relinquishment honorable.
B. 6. Letter 16. Relinquishment honorable continued.
Slave-buying and Slave-holding, both stains
expunged.
7. Lett 17. The Relinquishment must be entire.
8. Relinquishment — forms most eligible.
This is written: but not capable of being got up time enough for the present opportunity.
Those marked B. are with Bowring: through
him it is that you will receive them.
By this mail I have moreover to send to the
Cortes a copy of my printed paper intituled Codification Proposal
&c as likewise a Letter to introduce it. Of That Letter
the last words had just been written when I was so
agreeably surprized by the arrival of the two Letters
from the Cortes, with which I shall now be able to crown
my collection of Testimonials.
