By homicide in the way of duelling including the
offence preparatory to it called Challenging much mischief is
produced to an extent a much greater extent than men in general are
aware of – great than that by homicide produced in all
other ways – war excepted put together. The way mode case in which the
mischief produced by it is the greatest is by the scant tyranny
which any one worthless individual man is thereby enabled to exercise
over others in a number altogether unlimited.
In the use of offence arm it is in the power of almost any man
that chooses to acquire such a degree of expertness, that upon

than of a sentence of death pronounced by a Judge.
For the purpose of oppression and by means of oppression was depredation
to any extent, the assumption of the character of the bully
if when thus accomplished is sufficient: but by the combination of the
and the addition of that of time the still further facility
is afforded produced. Forcing himself into the company of the intended
victim, the fully after uttering some gross line gives
it to be understood that non effect to it will be an affront
for which nothing but combat the acceptance of a challenge can be accepted in reparation.
Disputes about money matters – and particularly money won and lost
and play are rears in this way a prompt . By
the man in whom fortitude audacity is conjoined with depravity,
a victim is looked for and found in one in whom opulence is conjoined with prudence.
