Law Amendment.Propositions
Ch. III Remedies
3. Satisfaction Duelling

Turn now to the existing system.

The station for the see-saw board is the Justice Chamber
the Chamber of justice. No such for any such the implement has
a technical Court. A technical Court has no room for it.

Satisfaction at the hands of a Jury under the direction of a Judge
viz punishment at the hands of a Judge after conviction by a Jury
either, yes: both not. To neither has either the nature or the root the evil – its nature or its root
been an object of regard. No To neither can any hope address itself of restoration of honour by
humiliation of the adversary. To neither can the suffering eye of the
sufferer address itself with any prospect of success address itself
for restoration of honour by humiliation of the adversary. In
conclusion both are sent away with the honour covered of the
injured party covered with additional wounds by the licensed
gladiators. So much for remedy to insult, verbal and
corporal.
