Expositive

By a challenge understand on the occasion, a
mode of conduct having for its object design in the mind of the intended
challenger
, agent a the desire and endeavour to cause the challengee
to meet him for the purpose of hostile combat.

Considered in respect of its expression a the challenge
will be either verbal or virtual: verbal where in so far as the signs
by which the endeavour desire is expressed are composed consist of deportment.

Simple or aggravated may be the challenge, in
so far as virtual: by an By a case of aggravated shall virtual challenge
understand a case in which with intent to produce the
effect of a challenge the challenger committs, against at the charge of

to him, an offence against affecting reputation or an offence against affecting
