Not that different lengths of time employed in meditation
may have had place whatsoever may have been the matter: say
for example pecuniary desire or desire of sport, or
as in the case of consensual homicide, care of reputation,
any one of these as well as ill-will: yet only in the case
where ill will is the motive, is so much any such vast
disparity in the punishment made attached to result from the existence
or non-existence or existence of premeditation.
