1828. Jany. 19
Law Amendment or Penal CodePropositions

To the case of the unlucky boy, evil of the 2d order
absolutely none: not only not more likely would he have been
than a person taken at large, to become the author of a simple
casualty, but much less likely: the sight of the dead
body coupled with the consciousness of his being the author
of the evil, and the distress spread among the relatives of the deceased might of itself, generally speaking suffice for
him with such a degree of attentiveness as should suf
be preventive of all repetition in his instance: much more
the experience of whatsoever punishment, in consideration of the
particular circumstances of the individual case, may have
thought proper to inflict.

As Widely different – as otherwise is the case in this respect is the
cas of case of the directing functionary author of the death
by thous
thousands or myriads of deaths: after the destruction
of the first set of the thousands or the myriads, the
remains be at his part and as seen to remain in the same situation, ready to consign to a
similar fate any number of other such sets.
