In regard to Democracy – Representative
Democracy – if the whole of the if apt the States in the Anglo American Union
are to be regarded as but one, the history of the
world has never produced more than one experiment
and of that one the success has been complete, more so
than the most sanguine temperament could have anticipated
and for 40 years without interruption this experiment
has been going on & prospering power & felicity
every element of prosperity every hour on the
increase. Suppose now it had failed: & that 10 other
such other experiments had failed likewise what would
it have proved against Representative Democracy?
What would it have proved against Representative
Democracy as compared with absolute Monarchy?
Nothing. For if from the beginning of history Representative
democracy has failed in 10 instances, within
the same period absolute Monarchy has failed in as
many 1000.
