7. Secrecy of their deliberations. In the state of
things in which Jury Procedure with Juries in it had its
origin and continuance, this feature had its good as well
as evil effects. The good ones were – that in respect of those that the deliberations
were saved thereby the Jurymen stood thereby exempted from coercive and corruptive
effects of the influences of individuals: the Monarch himself
being on that occasion included under that denomination –
meaning of individual in general other than those comprised within their own .

7. Under the present here proposed system this feature, it is surely already evident would
not be of any use: it is therefore a question matter of curiosity rather than
use what might be may have been or be its effects under a
different one. In the here proposed system it would be of no
